Abstract
A joint connector has a housing () with insertion spaces () for receiving terminal fittings (). A joint terminal () is mounted in the housing () at a first position where the joint terminal () is retracted from the insertion spaces (). The terminal fittings () then are inserted into the insertion spaces () of the housing (). The joint terminal () then is displaced to a full locking position for contacting and shorting the terminal fittings (). As a result, the joint terminal () does not hinder insertion of the terminal fittings (). Furthermore, the joint terminal () is mounted directly in the housing () and does not require a separate holder. Thus, the number of parts is reduced.
