To provide a machine tool in which positioning accuracy of a ram is ensured, realizing improved machining accuracy. A cylindrical ramsupporting a spindleis inserted in a ram guide holeformed in a cross slide, the ramhas supported surfacesin a V-shape formed on a lower side of an outer circumferential surface thereof, and the supported surfacesare placed on supporting surfacesin a V-shape formed on an inner circumferential surface of the ram guide holeof the cross slide, so that a Z-axis direction position of the ramis automatically aligned.
