Abstract
A composition of matter comprising an amine acylated with a hydrocarbyl group substituted carboxylic acylating agent containing an average of from 1.3 to 1.6 groups derived from α,β-unsaturated carboxylic compounds perof the hydrocarbyl group, wherein the hydrocarbyl group hasdetermined by GPC ranging from 1500 to 3000, the amine comprises polyamine bottoms and said acylated amine has total base number (TBN) ranging from 17 to 35. A method for preparing the composition, lubricating oils containing the composition and, in another embodiment, lubricating oil compositions of this invention further comprising a metal overbased sulfonate detergent.
