Abstract
A fire-resisting composite glass is comprised of at least two glass plates () and an interspaced cavity (). The distance between the glass plates () is determined by an encompassing bead () of plastic spacer material. In addition, in the margin region between the glass plates () a bead () of sealing material is introduced. With the aid of at least one core element an opening is formed in the bead () of spacer material for filling the cavity (). After the filling, this opening is closed with an entrainer stopper and simultaneously the cavity () is vented. During the closing the plastic spacer material () is joined again in the region of the opening and subsequently the entrainer stopper is covered with sealing material (). The method and the device for carrying out the method permits the automatic application of encompassing beads () of spacer material or of sealing material as well as the sealing and protection of the margin regions before the cavity () is filled.
