Abstract
In a rod-like memberthrough which light can pass, one endis formed as a light exit portion, other surface than this one endis formed as a light reflecting surfaceand a plurality of LEDsis disposed on the longitudinal direction side surface of the rod-like memberof this reflection surfacealong this longitudinal direction to thereby construct a light source apparatus. Thus, a light source with high luminance and high focusing efficiency suitable for use with a projection type display apparatus or the like can be realized by using LEDs.
