Abstract

An overhead garage door () includes a plurality of panels () each carrying rollers () which ride in a track assembly (). The track assembly () includes a generally vertically positionable component (), a generally horizontally positionable component (), and an arcuate transitional component () positioned between the vertical component () and the horizontal component (). The vertical component () is generally U-shaped in end profile having a base portion () with branches () extending from the edges thereof. The vertical component () is provided with a plurality of spaced separating systems (), each of which includes a web () extending across the base portion () and the slots () in the branches (). A selected portion of the length of the vertical component () may be removed by inserting a tool in the slots () of one of the separating systems () and twisting it to break the webs () adjacent to the slots (). Then by bending that portion on the web (), it will breakaway to provide a vertical component () of the desired length.
