Abstract

An image reading apparatus (A) includes a plurality of light sources () arranged in a row, and a hollow portion () for guiding light emitted from the light sources toward an image read line (S). The hollow portion () is divided by a plurality of partitions () into a plurality of individual sections (). As a result, it is possible to illuminate the longitudinally opposite ends and longitudinally central portion of the image read line (S) uniformly.
