A sealing material for sealing an envelope of an electron tube. The sealing material comprises 0.01˜2.0 wt % of fine particle selected from the group consisting of SiO, AlOand ZrOhaving a particle diameter of 0.001˜0.1 μm, PO—SnO type low melting glass and thermal expansion-controlling low melting ceramics.
