Abstract
The present invention relates to a method of applying a fastener portionto an absorbent article, said method comprising in a first alternative (A) the steps of: (i) providing a top sheet, (ii) placing one or more fastener portionsonto an inner surfaceof the top sheetso that a fastener user's endis essentially supported by the top sheetand a fastener manufacture's endis essentially adjacent to one of the lateral edgesof the top sheetwhereby the fastening meansis facing towards the inner surfaceof the top sheet, (iii) folding around the manufacturer's endso that it is essentially opposite to the user's end, and (iv) applying an absorbent coreand a back sheetonto the top sheet, whereby the sequence of steps (iii) and (iv) may be exchanged, or in a second alternative (B) (i) providing a back sheet, (ii) placing one or more fastener portionsonto the outer surfaceof the back sheetso that a fastener user's endis essentially supported by the back sheetand a fastener manufacturer's endis essentially adjacent to one of the lateral edgesof the back sheetwhereby the fastening meansis facing away from the outer surfaceof the back sheet, (iii) folding over the manufacturer's endso that it is essentially opposite to the user's end, and (iv) applying an absorbent core and a top sheetonto the back sheet, whereby the sequence of steps (iii) and (iv) may be exchanged.
