Abstract
A thermostat housing assembly () includes a housing () having a flange () for mounting the housing () on a support structure and a tubular spout () extending from the flange () and defining a passageway (). The flange () presents a mounting face () defining a seal groove () extending annularly about the flange () opening and having opposing side walls (). A seal () is disposed in the seal groove () for sealing the flange () to the support structure. The seal () has annular rings (). The opposing side walls () include opposing channels () defined therein to mechanically engage the annular rings () extending radially into the opposing channels () for retaining the seal () in the seal groove ().
