Abstract
A plasma display panel (PDP) that has an ultraviolet ray converter. The plasma display panel includes a front panel, a rear panel, a filter set, and an optical converter. The filter set is installed in front of the front panel. The optical converter is installed between the front panel and the filter set and converts ultraviolet rays emitted from the front panel into visible rays. Accordingly, the ultraviolet rays emitted from a plasma forming area in a discharge cell are mostly converted into visible rays. Therefore, the efficiency of the PDP is improved.
