Abstract
A pneumatic brake booster for a motor vehicle, comprising a piston () mounted between a control rod () actuated by a brake pedal and a push rod () actuating a piston of a brake master cylinder. Structure for increasing brake boosting during an emergency braking, comprising a cylindrical sleeve () mounted in an axially sliding and sealed manner inside the piston (). The sleeve being retained in the rest position by locking arrangement () and released to push away the shutter () of a three-way valve and increase the supply of atmospheric air to the booster when the control rod () is moved at a speed that is greater than a predetermined value.
