Abstract

The invention relates to the field of optical fiber cables, and more particularly to the field of low cost optical fiber cables. It is an optical fiber cable comprising a central reinforcing element (), a plurality of optical fibers () surrounding the central reinforcing element (), the bare optical fibers () being pressed in contact against the central reinforcing element () in such a manner as to be mechanically coupled to the central reinforcing element (). The optical fiber cable of the invention is suitable for use in particular as a distribution cable or as an access cable in local networks.
