Abstract
A mold-release coating system includes a barrier coating of a substantially liquid wax material. The wax material is deposited onto the mold surface. The wax material includes about 7 to about 10 weight percent solids. The wax material is permitted to substantially dry after deposition onto the mold surface. The mold-release coating system also includes a release powder deposited onto the barrier coating after the wax material has been permitted to substantially dry after deposition onto the mold surface.
