Abstract
A batten () for mounting cladding sheets to a wall or frame, said batten comprising an elongate channel member having a pair of spaced apart side walls () joined by an intermediate web (), and a corresponding pair of mounting flanges () spaced outwardly from the web () and extending laterally from the side walls (), adapted for connection to the cladding sheets (), and the batten () being configured such that stress applied to the cladding sheets () in use results in preferential deformation of the batten.
