The invention relates to a liquid-crystalline medium comprising at least one pyran compound of the formula I and one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of the compounds C-1 to C-5 in which the R, R, the rings A, B and P, L, X, X, Z, Z, m and n are as defined above and to electro-optical displays containing a liquid-crystalline medium of this type.
