Abstract
The light guide platehas a light receiving portionon one side thereof to receive light emitted by the LEDand a flexible light guide bodyfor transforming the light received by the light receiving portioninto planar light. The light guide bodyis arranged along the liquid crystal paneland has a plurality of light scattering portionsarranged on an outer surface thereof in a propagation direction of light emitted by the LED. Since the light guide platecomprises a flexible member and thus can be arranged in a curved shape conforming to the liquid crystal panelhaving a curved surface portion, the curved surface portion of the liquid crystal panelcan be illuminated uniformly. Further, the provision of the light scattering portionscan enhance a light reception efficiency and light emission efficiency even if the light guide plateis thin.
