Abstract

Provided is a method for producing surfactant granulates, comprising (a) providing a mixture of anionic surfactant acids and builder acids having a weight ratio of 1:100 to 1:20 of builder acid to surfactant acid; and (b) contacting the mixture with at least one solid neutralizing agent. The builder acid is selected from citric acid, tartaric acid, succinic acid, malonic acid, adipic acid, maleic acid, fumaric acid, oxalic acid, gluconic acid, nitrilotriacetic acid, aspartic acid, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, aminotrimethylenephosphonic acid, hydroxyethanediphosphonic acid, polyaspartic acids, polyacrylic acids, polymethacrylic acids, or copolymers thereof and has a particle size below 200 μm.
