Abstract

Poly(arylene ether) polymers are provided having polymer repeat units of the following structure: wherein Ar, Ar, Ar, and Arare identical or different aryl radicals, m is 0 to 1, n is 1-m, and at least one of G, G, G, G, G, G, Gand Gis a hydroxyalkyl furan group. Thin films of the polymer and methods of making the polymer are also provided.
