Abstract
A coordinate measuring device having a probe comprising a stylus () with a sensing member () for contacting the object () to be measured, a support unit () to which the stylus () is connected through elastic means (), and magnet means () for damping vibrations of the stylus () by generating eddy currents in conductive material. The elastic means () comprise at least one leaf spring () made of conductive material, and said magnet means () generate eddy currents in said leaf spring ().
