Abstract

In order to provide an aluminum flake pigment having excellent metallic luster, fine-grainedness and a plating-like appearance presenting silvery classiness, an aluminum flake pigment, obtained by grinding aluminum powder in an organic solvent, having an average thickness (t) in the range of 0.025 μm to 0.08 μm and an average particle diameter (D) in the range of 8 μm to 30 μm is provided. This aluminum powder is preferably prepared by an atomized method. A ball mill is preferably used as a grinder for performing this grinding.
