Abstract
An absorbent article which is provided with a liquid permeable surface sheet (), a liquid impermeable leakage-prevention sheet () and a liquid-retaining absorbent () interposed between the sheets, is formed substantially oblong, and is provided on the longitudinal opposite sides thereof with a pair of right and left, elastic member-carrying three-dimensional guards (), (), wherein the guards () each has a skin-contacting surface portion (A) formed by folding back a side on the free end () toward the outer side of the diaper, and elastic members in a stretched condition are respectively disposed and fixed to the skin-contacting surface portion (A) and to the approximately widthwise central portion of a raised portion (B) between the skin-contacting surface portion (A) and the base end () of a three-dimensional guard body.
