Abstract
A process for preparing a secondary alcohol which is characterized in adding a primary or a secondary amine in the reaction system in case that the secondary alcohol is prepared by hydrogenating in the presence of a noble metal, an epoxy derivative represented by the following formula, wherein Rand Rare the same or different, an organic group not containing aldehyde group or ketone group therein or hydrogen atom, provided that both Rand Rare not simultaneously hydrogen atom.
