Abstract
An reversible engine () is disclosed having a conduit system (), a first electrochemical cells (), and a second electrochemical cell (). The conduit system () includes a first conduit () extending from the first electrochemical cell () to the second electrochemical cell (), and a second conduit () extending from the second electrochemical cell () to the first electrochemical cell (). The heat engine () also includes a heater () mounted in thermal communication with the conduit system () adjacent the second electrochemical cell (), a cooler () mounted in thermal communication with the conduit system () adjacent the first electrochemical cell (), and a regenerative heat exchanger () thermally coupled to the first and second conduits () and () for the transfer of heat therebetween.
