Abstract

In order to ensure the strength of an air bag door sectiondefined in an instrument panel main bodyand reliably open the door sectionupon activation of an air bag device, an inventive vehicle interior trim article includes: a back-up plateintegrally connected to the bottom face of the door section; and a frame bodyfor accommodating the air bag device, wherein the back-up plateis integrally formed with the frame bodyvia a hinge section, and an extreme endof the back-up platedetachably abuts against a top-side end faceof the frame body. The back-up plateand frame bodyare molded so that the extreme endof the back-up plateis spaced apart from the top-side end faceof the frame bodyby a predetermined distance.
