Abstract

A method and apparatus for sealing the opposed side edges of a fluid treating belt filter () by employing an inflatable elastic tube (). Opposed sealing surfaces are spaced apart from each other defining a gap there between which can be brought into sealing relationship by activation of the tube (). The tube () being tested prior to and during sealing. Fluid that bypasses the seal are collected for rycycle.
