Abstract
A vapor compression refrigerator having a refrigeration cycle () is disclosed. In a Rankine cycle (), a refrigerant is circulated through a pump (), a heater (), an expander () and a condenser () in that order, and power is recovered by the expanderdue to the expansion of the refrigerant from the heater (). In a host gas cycle (), on the other hand, the inlet of the compressor () can be connected from a point between the pump () and the heater () by a switching path () having a first restricting portion (), the refrigerant is circulated by the compressor () through the heater () and the switching path () in that order, and the heater () exhibits the function of heating a heat generating device ().
