Music data stored in a data cardis input into a portable cellular phone, and also a plurality of pieces of application software () suitable for a music data format defined in connection with the music data is selected by a user and downloaded from a remote server. According to this configuration, the application software in association with the music data can be downloaded from the server in response to the user's selection.
