Alcohol and water solvates of 6-(5-carboxy-5-methyl-hexyloxy)-2,2-dimethylhexanoic acid monocalcium salt are crystalline and have the formula wherein Ris H or lower alkyl, and x is a number from 0 to 10, and are useful for treating dyslipidemia.
