Abstract

A shaft () with a co-rotating element () which is secured to it and has a surface located perpendicular to the axis () of the shaft, the welding taking place in the fillet formed between the seating surface () of the shaft () and axially normal surface () of the element. To achieve a durable join without adversely affecting true running, a welding bead () starts at a starting point () on the surface () located perpendicular to the axis () of the shaft (), leads to the fillet and then leads back to an end point (') on the surface () located transversely with respect to the axis of the shaft.
