Abstract

An X-ray generatorincludes an X-ray tubehaving a cathode portion, a grid electrodeand a target, a voltage controllerandfor controlling voltages to be applied to the cathode portionand the grid electrode, and switchesandfor operating ON and OFF of the X-ray generatorand of X-ray emission. The voltage controllerand, based on an ON-signal for the X-ray generatorand an OFF-signal for the X-ray emission, applies a positive standby voltage Vto the cathode portionand applies a negative cutoff voltage Vto the grid electrode
