Abstract
The present invention relates to a display device (A) including a plurality of display elements (A) formed on a substrate (A). Each of the display elements (A) includes an organic segment (A) containing an organic compound which generates light upon application of an electric field, and a first and a second electrode elements (A,A) for applying the electric field to the organic segment (A). The first electrode segment (A), the organic segment (A) and the second electrode segment (A) are formed on the substrate (A). In this case, the second electrode segment (A) is provided with an opening (A) for allowing passage of light generated in the organic segment (A). The first and second electrode segments may be formed adjacent to each other in a plane parallel to the substrate. In this case, the organic segment is formed so as to cover both the first and second electrode elements.
