Abstract

The invention relates to a display device, especially in a motor vehicle, comprising a display () which can be illuminated by a light source (), and a light guide () which is arranged between the light source () and the display (). Said light source () comprises a plurality of individual light sources (), the entire light-radiating surface of said light sources being larger than the surface of the display (). In order to increase the light efficiency, the light guide () comprises, on the light source side, individual light guiding sections () which are associated with the individual light sources (), said sections forming a common light guiding section () on the display side.
