Abstract
An arrangement for printing flat workpieces is provided and includes an application roller which rolls on the workpiece surfaceto be printed and thereby applies a printed image to the workpiece surface, the application roller forming a printing cylinderor a transfer rollercooperating with a printing cylinder, a counter-rollerwhich forms in cooperation with the application roller a printing gap, through which the workpiecepasses during the printing process, and a transport devicefor feeding the workpieceinto and out of the printing gapformed by the application roller and the counter-roller. A detector deviceis present in the direction of transport of the workpiece, before the printing gap, for detecting the position of a workpiece front endor an image beginning mark, and cooperates with the transport deviceand/or the printing cylinder; wherein the transport of the workpiece, prior to reaching the printing gap, is accelerated or delayed and/or the angular position of the printing cylindercan be changed by accelerating or delaying its rotational motion in order to bring into agreement the beginning of the printed image with the workpiece front endor a determined relative position thereof.
