Abstract

A fuser member with a supporting substrate having an outer surface layer of a fluoroelastomer, and the fluoroelastomer outer surface layer is prepared by: a) dissolving a fluoroelastomer; b) adding and reacting a biphenyl compound and a monofunctional amine hydrocarbon compound to form a homogeneous fluoroelastomer solution; and c) subsequently providing a surface layer of the resulting homogeneous fluoroelastomer solution to the supporting substrate.
