Abstract
A sensor assembly () for monitoring movement of an object () near a first body region () of an animal () includes one or more sensors () and a signaling unit (). The sensor () is coupled to the animal () and detects movement of the object () near the first body region () of the animal (). The signaling unit () generates a sensory signal that is received by the animal () when the sensor () detects movement of the object () near the first body region (). In one embodiment, the sensor () can include an infrared sensor. Alternatively, one or more of the sensors () can include a directional sensor, a positional sensor, an inclination sensor and/or another suitable type of sensor (). The sensory signal can be an audible sound, a vibration, a visual signal and/or an electrical impulse. The sensor assembly () can also include a counter () that monitors the number of times that the sensor () detects movement of the object () within or near the first body region ().
