Abstract
An improved intraocular lens () is provided which more closely mimics the accommodation and focusing of the eye's natural lens. The lens () comprises an optic () and a flexible, resilient optic positioning element () which includes an anterior section (), a posterior section (), a bight (), in cross-section, joining the anterior and posterior sections, and a haptic arm () extending between the optic () and the optic positioning element (). The lens () may optionally include a posterior optic () coupled to the optic positioning element (). The optic positioning element () is formed of unitary construction. The anterior () and posterior () sections are configured for yieldable engagement with the anterior () and posterior () walls of the eye capsule (), respectively.
