A metal compound obtained by a process comprising the step of contacting, in a specific ratio, a compound represented by the formula ML, a compound represented by the formula RTH, and a compound represented by the formula RJ(OH); a catalyst component for addition polymerization comprising the metal compound; a catalyst for addition polymerization using the catalyst component; and a process for producing an addition polymer using the catalyst.
