Abstract

This invention provides nucleic acid sequences and characterization of the gene cluster responsible for the biosynthesis of the enediyne C-1027 (produced by). Methods are provided for the biosynthesis of enediynes, enediyne analogs and other biological molecules. This invention also provides enediyne and enediyne analogs biosynthesized by manipulation of the C-1027 gene pathway.
