Abstract

A biofilter material for biofiltering a fluid is disclosed. This biofilter material comprises fragments of coconut mesocarp. A wastewater treatment system is also disclosed and comprises a filter bed and a water distribution system. The filter bed comprises fragments of coconut mesocarp as a biofilter material.
