Abstract

A seat for an automobile vehicle comprises a seat pan () and a seat back (), the seat pan () featuring a seating surface that is approximately horizontal extending from the seat back () to a forward limit (), the seating surface comprising a fixed seating surface () and a mobile front section () spanning at least part of the width of the forward limit (). The front section () can move between a raised position in which it is aligned with the fixed seating surface (), and a tilted position in which the front section () is tilted down below the fixed seating surface () forming ridge () with it that is more or less parallel with the forward limit (), this position being suitable to accommodate a seated child.
