Abstract
An electric motor has a stator () and a rotor (') separated therefrom by an air gap (). The rotor has a plurality of salient poles with pole shoes (A) facing toward the air gap, and a yoke (). The pole shoes serve to generate a sinusoidal counter-EMF. Located between the yoke () and a pole shoe (A) is a recess (A) in which a permanent magnet (A) is arranged. Adjacent to this recess (A) on each side in the circumferential direction is a low-magnetic-conductivity region (A′,A″) that is bounded by a retaining segment (′) made of ferromagnetic material. The latter serves to connect the pole shoe mechanically to the yoke (). A magnetic shunt () extends from a source segment (A′,A″) to a target region () of one of the retaining segments.
