Abstract

A base () for supporting a pole puller () utilized to manipulate a pole () includes first and second bearing arms () configured to rest on a surface () with the pole () located between the first and second bearing arms (). A cross member () interconnects the first and second bearing arms () and a housing () extends from the cross member () into which the pole puller () is seated. A flexible member () coupled to a ram () of the pole puller () encircles the pole (). An upward force () is imposed on the flexible member () via the ram () to extract the pole () from a fixed, upright position in the ground (). The support provided by the base () prevents the pole puller () from kicking into the ground as the upward force () is imposed.
