Abstract
In the context of recording program contributions, in particular television transmissions, it is frequently undesirable for the advertising blocks broadcast during the transmission also to be recorded and displayed in the event of subsequent reproduction. The invention is concerned with the problem of reliably suppressing such advertising blocks in the event of subsequent reproduction. To that end, it proposes firstly recording the transmission including the broadcast advertising blocks and then carrying out a search during which the beginning and the end of the advertising blocks (WU–WU) are marked. The information items (CIDN, CDIN) thus obtained are used in order either to subsequently record associated navigation data (CN–CNi+3) on the storage medium (), the said navigation data ensuring that the stored advertising blocks are masked out in the event of reproduction, or resorting of the recorded data cells is performed, in the case of which the data of the program contribution are then packed as compactly as possible and the data cells for the advertising blocks are eliminated in this way.
