Abstract

A personal care product is provided which includes a composition a quaternary ammonium salt wherein a cation of the salt is a dihydroxypropyltri(C–Calkyl)ammonium monosubstituted polyol in a carrier. The cation should have a molecular weight no higher than about 450 and the salt have a Tno higher than about 10° C. Particularly preferred are hydroxypropyltrimonium sorbitol salts. These salts operate as humectants to moisturize both in high and low relative humidity environments.
