Abstract
An optical component has working surfaces separated by neutral surfaces which constitute discontinuities between the working surfaces. The component is made by a method which comprises: forming, in a mould, surfaces complementary to the working and neutral surfaces of the component; and moulding the component on these surfaces of the mould. The step of forming the complementary surfaces in the mould is carried out by continuous cutting of a block of material using a cutting tool.
