Abstract
A method of treating or preventing adhesion formation during or following a surgical procedure comprising administering to a patient in need thereof at least one medicament selected from the group consisting of potassium channels; modulators of macrophage activation and leucocyte attraction through cytokines, or their inhibitors, antibodies or inhibitors blocking the effect of VEGF expression; prostaglandin E1; free radical scavengers, lipid peroxysomes; pregnatrienes; calcium antagonists; hypoxia; acidosis; MP; dopamine; and ATP-MgCl, wherein the method prevents adhesion formation by preventing anoxemia.
