Abstract

A portable power tool, in particular an angle grinder (), includes a longitudinal housing () for accommodating a motor for driving a driven shaft () that is outwardly bent relative to the housing (), the driven shaft being rotatably supported in a gearbox casing () and extending out of it with a free end that is provided to accommodate a sanding body. A protective cover () encompassing the sanding body is capable of being fastened on the gearbox casing () such that its rotation can be adjusted, and the rotational position of which is lockable using a notch lever (). The device is made safer to operate and more cost effective to manufacture by the fact that the notch lever () is positioned transversely to the longitudinal axis of the angle grinder () and is pivotable around an axis () positioned substantially parallel to the housing ().
