Abstract
A fuel injector () for the direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine has a piezoelectric actuator () which is encapsulated in an actuator housing (); a valve needle () which is in operative connection with the actuator and on which a valve-closure member () is formed which forms a sealing seat together with a valve-seat surface (); and a nozzle body () into which the actuator housing () is able to be inserted. The actuator housing () and the nozzle body () are sealed by a common connecting part (), the connecting part () having a first and a second diameter step ().
