Copper complex monoazo dyes of general formula (V) and of general formula (VI) wherein R, R, R, R, R, Rand M are as described in the specification, are excellent magenta dyes for dyeing and printing of cellulose containing materials and textile materials and especially for the preparation of inks for ink jet printing.
